Where can I find out about bridge heights?

The clearance of bridges is usually 4.4 m or more. If the clearance is less than 4.4 m, this is indicated with a traffic sign. If the height of a transport exceeds 4.4 m, a special transport permit must be applied for it, in which the suitable route is specified.

Bridge-related limitations can be viewed through the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s website. The map presents weight-restricted bridges and clearance limitations. Limitations can be added or removed, so the map should be reviewed frequently. You should also remember to check any possible limitations with the municipalities and, in the context of private roads, the road maintenance associations.
