Traffic Management Centres (Helsinki, Turku, Tampere) monitor the state-owned highways and take care of the regional traffic flow and operative traffic management.
The tasks of the centres include the monitoring of traffic and weather conditions, traffic management, maintaining an up-to-date situational picture, road management support and incident management in cooperation with other authorities. The Traffic Management Centres can also control variable speed limits, road tunnels and movable bridges.
