You may not plant vegetation on the road area. The road area is owned by the Finnish Transport Agency and generally reaches 2 meters from the outer edge of the ditch, ramp or trench. At places, the road area may be even wider. The National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) provides specific information about real property borders.

A hedge or other plants may not obstruct the visibility of road users. The property owner is responsible for keeping the view clear.
