Who is responsible for train timetables?

Article body content

Railway companies request their required railway network capacity from the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency.

VR and other railway operators plan their own timetables, and the FTIA coordinates the railway capacity applications of all operators. Based on the applications, the FTIA issues a decision on the allocation of railway capacity for regular services. After the decision, the timetables are published as a pdf file on the FTIA website.
